• What's 'Is-Glue'?

A tube of Is-Glue is one of the 13 Tools on a

    Possibility Manager's Toolbelt.

Is-Glue is a special kind of glue, very popular with humans. Actually each of us was born with a tube of Is-Glue on our waist and we use it all day every day. Is-Glue is a story-making device.

    Human beings are story makers.

To make a Story, we take an object (like he or she, or my life, or his life, or this website, or my dinner, or anything!) and we glue it together with an opinion, a judgment, a conclusion, a decision ("He is hot." Or, "She is always blaming me." Or, "My life is not like I wish it was." Or, "My life is fabulous." Or, "My life is pointless," etc... ) with Is-Glue.

The thing is that 'is' does not exist in nature.

'Is' is a Construct invented by the human Mind.

(There are human languages that do not use the word 'is.')

You ongoingly and perhaps, until this very moment,

use Is-Glue to serve the Unconscious Purposes of your Box and

your Gremlin by Declaring that two completely disassociated

concepts are stuck together as a Story.

Then you step into your Story World and act as if your Story is true,

even though just a moment before you made it up

    out of nothing using Is-Glue.

For example: “This job is impossible.”

Or “My team loves doing impossible jobs.”

You can change your mind about everything. That is what minds are for, to be changed. It is your mind after all.

You can do whatever you want with it.

(If you want to change your mind,

Is-Glue Dissolver is the tool of the day!)

MAKE A VIDEO OF THE IS CONJUGATIONS

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.01

You are using Is-Glue hundreds, if not thousands of times a day to create the stories that make up the reality that you live within.

Usually this story making is unconscious i.e. you don't even realise that you are doing it. Meaning you do not know what the purpose of your Is-Glue creations really are. This means that most likely many of them will be serving Low Drama and Shadow Principles like Revenge, Competition, Scarcity etc

Noticing you are using Is-Glue is the beginning of using it consciously.

This experiment builds capacity for this.

First, in your Beep! Book, write and memorize a list of conjugations of "is":

is, am, are, was, were, has, have, had, do, does, did, may, might, must, can, could, should, would, shall, will and the "not" forms

We call these "Is-Glue Formulations" or "Is-Glue Conjunctions".

Next, make a short video about you saying them, with a dance, without reading them.

Do it using each of the Four Feelings: anger, sadness, fear and joy. Choose many different ways to say them.

When you have made the video, please enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.01 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

    SPOT THE IS-GLUE

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.02

Here is another experiment to strengthen your "noticing Is-Glue" muscles.

Pick half a page from your favourite book.

If you need a new favourite book, click here for a list of Possibilities.

Circle, in each sentence, where the Is-Glue is.

Sometimes it is hidden and you will need to use Your Attention.

For example: "I eat cake" = "I do eat cake."

When you have spotted a half page of Is-Glue, enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.02 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

This Experiment is worth 1 Matrix Point.

    SKIP THE "IS"ES

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.03

This experiment IS about spotting the Is-Glue before you even use it.

For one whole day, do not use the word IS or one of the conjugations of the word IS.

For example, instead of saying "We are going to the store", leave out the "are" and say: "We going to the store."

Every time you use one by accident (Beep!), eat a frozen Brussel sprout (Shift!) and keep going (Go!) to empower Rapid Learning.

This is not about beating yourself up for making mistakes. Be on the Learning Team!

After a whole day, write in your Beep! Book for at least 20 minutes about how things went.

Then, no matter how many Brussel Sprouts you had to or didn't have to eat, enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.03 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

    WRITE A STORY WITHOUT IS

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.04

Here is an other way to build your capacity and ability to notice Is-Glue.

Write 300-600 words (sliding scale) of an emotional story, perhaps the recollection of your last real-life Low Drama episode.

Do not use any of the "Is Conjugations" from the first experiment.

After you have written the story, check it for Is-Glue, then enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.04 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

    Is, IS, IS!

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.05

In this experiment you will work another angle of your Is-Glue noticing and using.

Write out a 600 word conversation, and in each and every sentence put in dramatic, persecutor, rescuing Is-Glue in the most argumentative, passive aggressive, full aggressive ways. Is, IS, IS!

    You always...you never...you are always...you are an....

    NOTICE STORIES ABOUT STORIES

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.06

There can be many layers of stories, many layers of Is-Glue.

Someone else having a story about something you care about is a scary proposition. To get away from the fear you squeeze out a bit of Is-Glue and create a story about their story. Unfortunately, this leaves you spending your time wading through this sticky Is-Glue story soup rather than being in touch with Reality herself.

Say you watch one of the Possibility Films, you friend might come out saying "That was terrible". It was one of your favourites so you quickly create the story "They don't know anything about film. I'm really the connoisseur here!"

This experiment is for the next three days to notice the stories you have about other people's stories, and even better the stories you have about their stories about your stories.

At least once during each of these days, write in your Beep! Book about how things went, what you noticed about people and YOUR Is-Glued stories about THEIR Is-Glued stories.

Then, enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.06 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

    CONTRADICTORY STORIES

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.07

Reading the news or reading Facebook, and seeing a post about gay people, abortion, or transgender or whatever the argument is, anything you feel strongly about, is a reminder to do this experiment.

Take 3 different political positions about something, in your mind.

Write these as headings on a fresh page in your Beep! Book.

Then make up contradictory "for and against" pairs of stories about each of your opinions.

During the rest of the day, tell all three stories, both sides, with conviction, convincingly as if you believed them (but not as "the Truth") to as many people as you can.

At the end of the day, write in your Beep! Book for at least 20 minutes about how things went. Then enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.07 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

DISCOVER THE LAYERS OF A STORY

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.08

Stories have layers of story and purpose.

For this experiment, pick someone you kind of get along with.

In the middle of a conversation, notice something they have a story about, and ask "Can I ask you a question about this?"

Then, when they say yes, ask the question, and when they answer, say, "why did you give me that answer?"

Write down the answer in your Beep! Book.

    And then say, "Thank you!"

    And then say,

"Why did you give me THAT answer?"

or "Why is it important to you to have said THAT?"

or "What is in it for you that you said THAT to me?"

Take it down to each next level.

Write each answer down, five layers down.

Do this with three different people.

Then you can enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.08 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

    THE "HOW ARE YOU" STORY

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.09

"How are you?" and it's customary answers of "I'm good, thanks" are Box mantras designed to keep the conversation in the safe marshmallow zone of your Box's comfort zone.

Each time you answer that question you create another Bullshit story about what's going on. It happens so often during the day that this is the perfect place to experiment.

A great way to learn to use Is-Glue is to play with it in as many different ways as you can. This experiment is about playing with it in another way.

For the whole week, every day for 7 days, when people ask you, "How are you?" give them five different answers.

In each answer, use a different Is-Glue in every sentence.

For example, start with "I am..." and then "I have..." etcetera.

If they want you to stop, declare: "You asked me how I am, and I will tell you!"

At the end of the week, write in your Beep! Book for at least 20 minutes about how things went, and then enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.09 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

This Experiment is worth 2 Matrix Points.

    STORIES ABOUT NO QUESTIONS

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.10

If nobody is asking you questions, you can tell yourself stories about why nobody is asking you any questions.

Open a doorway for yourself by figuring out what stories exist about why people do not ask you questions.

Write in your Beep! Book for at least 30 minutes about this.

Let three days pass, and then write for at least another 30 minutes about it again.

Then, please enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.10 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

    DISCOVER THE ABSURDITY OF STORIES

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.11

This experiment is to approach absurdity with a consideration that stories are true. That you can speak without saying bullshit.

Do this experiment when somebody asks you a question, or, if nobody asks you a question, then ask somebody to ask you a question.

Then, in response, Is-Glue together a fake story without laughing or smiling.

In other words, tell a story that you think is not true.

Then stop and notice what goes on for you when you are aware of the fact that you are telling a story you think is not true.

Next: tell the story that you lied, and why you lied.

But lie about why you lied.

Then lie about why you lied about lying.

Then ask the person, "What's true about what I just said?"

They will tell you a story.

Ask them, "What's in it for you for giving me that answer?"

Once you have done this, write about what happened and what you noticed in your Beep! Book for at least 30 minutes.

Then enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.11 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

    BRAG ABOUT YOURSELF

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.12

Brag about yourself to one of your colleagues for three minutes.

For extra difficulty do it to someone who you don't like or who doesn't like you very much.

    Do it truthfully with evidence.

When you are finished, tell them, "The reason I did this was because I want to hear you brag about yourself. I want to hear those things about you. I am just missing these wild stories about your life."

Make them do it. For three minutes. Even if you have to pay them 20$ to do it.

BRAG ABOUT SOMEONE YOU DO NOT LIKE

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.13

Choose somebody at work or at home, or a neighbour who you don't like so much.

When they are there, speak to somebody else about them and brag outrageously but truthfully about them.

Give evidence. Even if it is small evidence (they won't get it, it will be big evidence to them).

Brag not just about one thing, but go on for three minutes.

Don't get off it. Refuse to stop, even if the person tries to interrupt you, say "I am not finished yet!"

For example you might say, "I get to work with you, and the way you keep your desk is so inspiring, I just look at your desk and I am inspired to solve any problem!"

When you have done this, write about how it went in your Beep! Book.

    STORIES ABOUT YOUR BIG CHALLENGE

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.14

Noticing the stories about challenges, and noticing that the Is-Glue about them has consequences.

For this experiment, identify your biggest challenge at the moment.

Maybe you are stuck in some kind of prison, you want to go travel, you don't have possibilities, you hate your job, your partner is an asshole, you want to get rid of your children... whatever it is, write it down in your Beep! Book.

Then write down all the little stories attached to this biggest challenge, that fit with this challenge.

Every time you write the story down, circle the Is-Glue.

    Notice what happens.

After you have noticed for a week, enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.14 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

TELL STORIES FROM YOUR 5 BODIES

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.15

Here is another way to play with Is-Glue by creating Is-Glued stories:

For the whole week, every day for 7 days, when people ask you, "How are you?" give each person 5 answers, one from each of your 5 Bodies.

After the week is over, write in your Beep! Book for at least 20 minutes about how things went. Then enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.15 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

    TELL STORIES FROM YOUR PARTS

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.16

For this experiment, for the whole week, every day for 7 days, when people ask you, "How are you?" Is-Glue together six different answers.

    Make an answer from:

    - each of the Four Feelings,

    - your Archetypal Lineage, and

    - your Gremlin.

When the week is over, write in your Beep! Book for at least 20 minutes about how things went, and then enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.16 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.17

For three days, write down, in really short form, in your Beep! Book, every story that you hear all day long.

From advertisements: "Tide laundry soap is the best."

From your kids: "I am hungry."

From your neighbour: "This weather is awful."

Mine the Is-Glue stories from all around you.

After three days, go over the Is-Glue you mined in your Beep! Book, and enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.17 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

    ASK PEOPLE FOR THEIR STORIES

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.18

We all tell all kinds of stories about ourselves. What are they?

For one week, whenever you get the chance, tell people you are doing research on distinguishing people from their stories.

Ask people how they are, and tell them you want a real answer.

Notice the stories they have about themselves.

After they say one answer, say "Tell me another story about how you are."

At the end of the week, write in your Beep! Book for at least 20 minutes about how things went, what you noticed about people and their Is-Glued stories.

    Wear it for 3 days.

Every where you go, to the grocery store, post office, start your conversation with, "I am wearing this cape because...," and Is-Glue a story together as to why you are wearing this cape.

Example: "I have to wear this cape because....it makes me invisible to the Covid virus."

LEARN TO USE YOUR PURPOSE SNIFFER

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.20

You were born with a Purpose Sniffer as one of the 13 Tools on your Possibilitator's Toolbelt.

Use it to sniff out the purpose behind the stories, behaviours, movements etc of yourself and those around you.

The purpose could come from your Upperworld i.e. being in service to Bright Principles like Possibility, Love or Clarity. Or the purpose could come from the depths of your Underworld and serve Shadow Principles like Resentment, Revenge or Greed.

Every story has a purpose behind it. This experiment is about sniffing it out.

For the next three days, notice the stories other people tell you.

For example, they might say: "I feel great today," or a story about their mom, about work, about the price of spaghetti...

Then say "I am doing research on the purpose of stories."

Say, "I noticed that of all the possible stories you could have told me, you told me <repeat the story they told you>."

For example: "I feel great today," or the story about their mom, about work, about the price of spaghetti...

"For my research, tell me the purpose, benefit and payoff behind you choosing to tell me that story."

Write them down and say thank you.

DO THE "I HAVE A STORY ABOUT YOU" PROCESS

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.21

Within seconds of meeting someone you will already have made many stories about that person.

Which part of you is making those stories? If the purpose is Unconscious then it will be Your Box crafting stories to defend you or Your Gremlin crafting them to hurt the other person.

It's time to find out where your stories are coming from.

The "I Have a Story About You" process is one of dozens of dozens of processes on the PM Processes website. It is listed under the letter "I".

    1. Say "I have a story about you. My story is: I feel (angry|sad|scared|glad) because you........."
    2. Say "My evidence for my story is......"
    3. Say "My fear behind my story is......"
    4. Say "My payoff/Shadow Benefit for my story is......"
    5. Then ask the other person "What do you think and feel about my story?"

    Do it with one person.

Then do it again in a Possibility Team or with your business team or knitting circle. Present the process. Send people into pairs to do the process together, including you.

Share together about what it was like to do this.

Then please enter Matrix Code ISGLUExx.21 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

CREATE AND NAVIGATE SPACE WITH IS-GLUE

    Matrix Code ISGLUExx.22

For this experiment, make two columns in your Beep! Book.

In one column write down "What I Am That I Hate,"

    like:

"I am a wage slave, a third class citizen, a straight haired women, fat, old, penniless, too short,"

    whatever the "I am"'s are:

"I have no options or opportunities," "I am stupid, I have no degree."

In the next column, write down "What I Am That Would Turn Me On a Thousand Percent,"

    like:

"I am a secret agent for the evolution of consciousness", "I am a catalyst of cultural evolution", "I am a change agent for more love happening," "I am a memetic wizard" "I am an energetic tightrope walker," "I am a Haiku possibility maker."

And then, for one week, from wake up time until noon, tell the first column stories about yourself.

And from noon to bed time, tell the stories from the second column.

Notice what it does to the space you are in.

If, after this experiment, you notice any of the voices from the first column happening, use your Voice Blaster on them.

Take your Beep! Book and write down ten stories about your mother.

    Pick one.

Consciously make a completely new story about your mother in regards to the first of the ten things. Write it down.

For a week to ten days, tell the new story about your mother to the people around you, to your partner, to your friends.

Then visit or call your mother and notice what happens.

After some time noticing, without explaining, tell her the new story.
